How to Buy
SEARCH FOR THE VEHICLE OF YOUR CHOICE AND VISIT THE COPART FACILITY WHERE IT IS STORED TO INSPECT IT BEFORE BIDDING.
You can search using the "Vehicle Search" tab of the website. In the drop-down menu, select "Vehicle Search". There, you can filter cars for sale by the Vehicle Type, Year, Make, Model, Title Type or the Vehicle Location. You can also use the "Quick Picks", search by Lot Number or simply use the "Quick Search" box located on the header from any page.
Once you see the image for the vehicle you are interested in, click on it or on the lot number and it will navigate you to the vehicle information page. There, you can find information on the mileage, title type, primary damage, etc. If you click on "location" it will provide you with the address and phone number to the yard where the vehicle is stored.
Do not guide yourself strictly on the images and the information provided on the website. We strongly recommend that you visit the yard or hire an inspector to visit the yard and inspect the vehicle prior to making any offers. ALL VEHICLES ARE SOLD AS "AS IS – WHERE IS" ALL OFFERS ARE BINDING AND ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
To visit the yard to inspect cars for auction, prior to registering with SalvageReseller.com, please register for a free/basic membership at Copart.com. This will give you and one other person capability to visit the yard.
SIGN UP WITH US FOR 30 DAYS FREE TRIAL OR AN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP. PAY THE SECURITY DEPOSIT AND GET YOUR BIDDER NUMBER.
No dealer license is required to buy salvage cars for sale. Simply enter your contact information and select whether or not you are a resident of the US or Canada. If so, your driver's license number will be necessary to register. If you are not a US or Canada resident, then you must select the country where you reside and enter your passport number. Then click 'next'
Select whether or not you would like your salvage auction subscription to be billed monthly or yearly. The first month is free. After that, it is $20 per month or $120 for the full year. You will be prompted to enter your credit card information, in order to make your $400 security deposit. A $400 minimum security deposit is required to keep your account active. This allows you to bid on one vehicle up to $4000. If you wish to increase your bidding capability (bidding limit), please increase your deposit by 10% of your desired bid limit. A security deposit is required per vehicle. For example, if you deposit $800, you can bid up to $8000 on one vehicle or $4000 on two vehicles.
LOGIN AT COPART.COM AND BID ON THE VEHICLES OF YOUR CHOICE! PAY THE VEHICLE PURCHASED, AND PICK IT UP DIRECTLY AT COPART.
Once you register, we will email you your bidder number and password to login at Copart.com to enter car auctions. Once you have received your Bidder Number and Password, go to Copart.com and login as a member. Be sure to login using the bidder number you received and to enter your password in all upper-case letters. The "Welcome" email will have very useful information on how to log in, to bid on cars for auction, etc.
You can search for the vehicle you wish to bid on by lot# in the "Search" tab of Copart.com's website. When you locate the vehicle in the Copart site, click on the image or the lot number and go to the vehicle information page. There, you will find the item number for the vehicle. Any vehicle number 1-1999 is in lane A; 2000-2999 is lane B; 3000-3999 is lane C; 4000-4999 is lane D; and so on for every thousand numbers. You can check to make sure that the vehicle is on the sale list, by using the item or the lot number to search the list per yard.
You can make your offers during the Preliminary Bidding period and/or the Virtual Auction. We recommend you to enter your maximum bid during the Preliminary Bidding, this way Copart's Bid4U (Bid for You) feature incrementally bids the vehicle on your behalf. If you are outbid you will receive an email notification and are provided the opportunity to re-bid the vehicle. If you decide to bid during the Virtual Auction we suggest you open the bidding window (VB2) no earlier than nine minutes before the virtual car auctions are set to begin.
Once you win a vehicle's salvage auction, you must be aware of the sale status of the vehicle. If it is selling "on minimum bid" or "on approval", the seller has until 9pm PST, the next business day, to respond to your offer. You can check your bid in the “Open Items” page located on the "Bid Status" tab in your account at Copart.com. You will see the status of the vehicle. If it says ‘seller countered’ you can, keep your current offer; or raise your bid.
Once you are awarded a vehicle, you will be notified via email by Copart and us, you will also receive the payment instructions and the vehicle documents by email from us. Payment must be made to Inloher Corp., via wire transfer or direct deposit to our Bank of America account ONLY, you CANNOT pay at any Copart location. You have two (2) working days from the date of the sale, to pay in full before Copart charges $50 in late payment fees. Failure to pay the vehicle within seven (7) calendar days (including the sale date), forfeits your purchase, you will lose your prepaid security deposit and will have to pay a $300 sales cancelation fee for every vehicle. BUY IT NOW PURCHASES must be paid for the day of the sale or you will be charged the $50 late payment fee, if it is not paid on the same day.
You must sign the vehicle documents using the electronic signature option and submit them to us electronically. Florida residents must mail in the notarized Power of Attorney. Once you pay for the vehicle and we have received your documents, we will email you and the Copart yard where the vehicle is stored a Vehicle Release Authorization for you to be able to remove the purchased vehicle from the yard. You have seven (7) calendar days to remove the vehicle from the yard (including the sale day) before Copart starts to charge $20 per day in storage fees (including weekends and holidays).
Once the vehicle leaves the yard, provided the title is not pending 30 days at Copart, we will mail you your title. Florida residents will receive their title directly from Tallahassee.
