A short checklist so your pickup and delivery go smoothly. Please read the inspection note carefully.
Pickup is your final inspection.
Once the vehicle leaves the Copart yard it cannot be returned, and Copart will not be responsible for damage, missing parts, or any other issue raised afterward. Inspect the vehicle closely, or have your transporter inspect it, before it is loaded.
Before pickup
Pay your Copart invoice in full. Payment is due within three business days, counting auction day, and the yard will not release an unpaid vehicle.
Once your payment clears, obtain the vehicle release authorization from us.
Double check that your pickup contact name and phone number are correct and reachable.
Get in touch with your transporter to confirm the pickup window, and give them the release authorization code.
At pickup and after
Inspect the vehicle carefully at pickup. This is your last chance to review its condition.
Note any damage or missing parts before the vehicle is loaded, and keep photos for your records.
Contact your transporter directly with any questions about scheduling, transit, or delivery.
Keep your invoice, release paperwork, and transporter details on hand until the vehicle arrives.

Yes. Inoperable, wrecked, and non running vehicles are shipped every day. National carriers use winches, forklifts, or rollback equipment to load them, and a small surcharge usually applies. For international moves, non running vehicles typically ship by container rather than RoRo.
Yes. Carriers collect your vehicle directly from any Copart location once the lot is paid and released. The carrier handles the gate pass and pickup using your release authorization, so you do not have to be on site.
National quotes come live from our transport partner based on the pickup and delivery ZIP codes, vehicle type, whether it runs, and open versus enclosed carrier. International quotes come from West Coast Shipping based on your origin port, destination country and port, vehicle, and whether you choose RoRo or a sole or shared container.
RoRo (roll on roll off) drives operable vehicles onto a dedicated vessel and is usually the most economical option. Container shipping seals the vehicle inside a container, either sole use (just your vehicle) or shared with others to lower the cost, and is required for vehicles that do not run or when you want extra protection and the ability to ship parts inside.
Licensed carriers are required to carry cargo insurance covering your vehicle from pickup through delivery on domestic moves, and marine cargo coverage is available for international shipments. Coverage details are confirmed at booking.
