Why the state you buy in matters
Distance is money at a salvage auction. The closer the yard, the cheaper the transport and the easier it is to view a lot in person before bidding. Buying in your own state can also simplify title paperwork, since re titling rules differ state by state. Get an instant hauling quote for any yard on our transportation page.
A few restrictions are worth knowing before you pick a state: vehicles located in Kansas and Missouri cannot be purchased, Michigan allows clean title vehicles only, Colorado and Wisconsin take preliminary bids only, and California residents cannot buy California lots. Everything else is open to any buyer with a free account: register here. See how to buy for the full process.
